About Me

My photo
Born in Osaka Japan,
SYDNEY, NSW, Australia
I was born in Osaka, Japan, where I studied architecture and graduated. I migrated to Australia in 1993 and joined Harry Seidler and Associates. I worked closely with Harry himself on beginning with the firm, and was involved in many competition schemes and design developments working directly under him. I was the project team leader and in charge of documentation for North Apartments in Goulburn Street, on the George Street Meriton Tower and on the Clarence Street Alliance Française Centre in the Sydney CBD. I documented and administered these construction contracts mainly on my own. After Harry died, the office entered a competition for a 7-star hotel in Tripoli, Libya, on which I was the author of its tower’s design. Towards the end of 2011, I was part of a team which entered Mirvac’s design competition for 200 George Street, Sydney, for which we were short-listed Sydney, with Collins and Turner Architects. After 19 years of working at HSA, I now established toland shiraishi architects with Isabelle Toland to continue our design philosophy of modern architecture Feb 2013.
